More landlords will be forced out of the rental market if the government continues to impose restrictions on the sector, a lobby group has said.
The Irish Property Owners’ Association (IPOA) was responding to concerns from the Residential Tenancies Board that there has been a sharp decline in the number of properties available for rent.
Although rents are at a record high because of unprecedented demand, the number of landlords is falling, with 8,829 tenancies and 1,778 fewer landlords than in 2015.
