UNDER-FIRE Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy is celebrating a rare win today after a report revealed his Rent Pressure Zone policy was working.
But he declared: “Rents are still too high and are still rising unsustainably.”

Independent research commissioned by the Residential Tenancies Board revealed that the setting up of pressure zones in late 2016 has had a cooling effect on rent prices.
The ESRI and Coyne Research report found rents would be up to three per cent higher in rent pressure zones if legislation had not been introduced.
Despite this, two out of five people living in rent pressure zones are still hit with rent rises of more than four per cent despite the legislation.
