Research into 'sex for rent' underway after Cork property advertised online – Echo Live

RESEARCH aimed at determining the extent of accommodation being offered in return for sex and other favours is expected to get underway shortly.

The wording for the survey is currently being worked on by the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) in consultation with the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre.

The Echo revealed in January that a property at The Lough was being offered online in return for sexual relations with the landlord twice a week.

Similar advertisements have been placed online in different parts of Ireland on a number of classified advertisement websites.

A spokeswoman for the RTB told The Echo: “The RTB continues to scope out this project in consultation with the Rape Crisis Centre.

“Further information will be released once this initial phase has been completed, and the findings thoroughly reviewed.”
