THOUSANDS of small businesses have been forced to close their doors because of the coronavirus pandemic and many of them may never reopen.
Lockdown has wreaked havoc on the Irish business sector, leaving many small firms unable to pay their rent or their staff.

Earlier this week, new CSO figures revealed unemployment figures shot from just 4.7 per cent to a record high of 28.2 per cent in the space of a month as a result of the pandemic.
And even though brighter days are coming with restrictions being eased, thousands of SMEs face the prospect of never reopening again with customers under lockdown, shops shuttered and the cash flow drying up.
