The first ever virtual planning committee of Hillingdon Council in west London has approved the final residential stage of developer U+I’s Old Vinyl Factory masterplan.
One Vinyl Square is being developed by SME housebuilder Joseph Homes and is described by U+I as “one of the final pieces of the puzzle” in its transformation of the former EMI global manufacturing HQ.
The approved plans include 134 homes and 4,252 square feet of commercial space. There will be a mix of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom maisonettes within the development.
Joseph Homes development director Craig Carson said: “It is great to see planning authorities like Hillingdon working with SME developers during these challenging times. We are proud that One Vinyl Square received unanimous approval during Hillingdon Council’s inaugural virtual planning committee.”
