Boots Pauses Rent Payments On Some Irish Stores Until 'Fair' Post-COVID Rental Deal Is Struck – Checkout

Boots Ireland has said that it has paused payments on some of its Irish stores, until a fair post-COVID rental deal is struck.

“Since March of this year, Boots Ireland has remained committed to keeping stores open to ensure that pharmacy, healthcare and essential products are available to communities across the country at a time when they are needed the most. This is despite the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic had a negative impact on our business,” a Boots spokesperson said.

Boots Ireland which now has has almost 90 stores across Ireland highlighted that it has contacted a number of its larger commercial landlords to discuss options for rental and service charge payments in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on its business.

The retailer said that at this time that it has paused some payments while discussions were ongoing.
