A resident of a property where tenants were evicted following chaotic scenes has appealed for authorities to help people find a new place to live.
On Wednesday, nine tenants were evicted from Berkeley Road, Dublin 7, by a number of men wearing black clothing.
The tenants were aided by housing activists to return to the property on Thursday but damage inside has made the property “uninhabitable”, according to tenants.
Henry Phiri (36) told the Irish Independent: “The toilets have all been smashed up, we don’t have a toilet to use.
“The bed bases have all been taken, we are sleeping on the floor. We need help, we need safety.”
It remained unclear last night who had ordered the eviction.
The property has been subject to legal action in the High Court.
