Delaney enjoyed €1m champagne lifestyle on top of his €360k wages – Extra.ie

John Delaney clocked up a bill of almost €1million in ‘excess’ spending – on top of his €360,000 salary – in his last five years as FAI chief, a report commissioned by the State has found.

That and other shocking revelations are laid bare in Champagne Football, a book chronicling the Delaney years as Football Association of Ireland boss and his fall from grace last year.

The report, which was never published but forwarded to the gardai, was carried out by Kosi Corporation, an accountancy firm drafted in by Sport Ireland to investigate the FAI’s financial affairs.
