Homeless Italian man assaulted outside bank – Wexford People

Following a large number of donations from the people of Wexford, hopes are high that an Italian man living rough on the streets of the town will be able to get a roof over his head.

ust last week, 62 year-old Mario Serban was the victim of an attack as he bedded down for the night in the doorway of The Bank of Ireland.

‘He’s been having ongoing problems there anyway,’ said Lynda Watson, one of the women leading the fundraiser to house Mario.

‘This woman comes along regularly and spits at him and kicks him. She’s also urinated where he makes his bed for the night. On this occasion, she had three men with her and he was knocked down the steps. He’s alright, but he’s not a big man. You’d really feel sorry for him.’
