11:36 a.m.: California eviction moratorium extended through June

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law that extends eviction protections through the end of June, according to the Associated Press.

Newsom signed the law on Friday, one day after it was passed by both state Legislature chambers. If it did not pass, the original eviction moratorium expiration date was Jan. 30.

Last year, Newsom signed a law that banned evictions over unpaid rent for tenants who paid at least 25%
