IN a week that saw parents of children with additional needs anxiously await a decision on the reopening of schools, it’s been revealed that more than 3,200 childcare staff are currently on the Pandemic Unemployment Payment.
The figure highlights the many difficulties in a sector that has been put under huge strain throughout the Covid-19 epidemic and again calls into the question the level of Government support for the country’s youngest citizens.
