Cork rents increased by almost 9% during 2020 – The Corkman

A new report has found that Cork County experienced one of the highest rates of rental inflation across the entire country during the course of 2020.

igures contained within the latest Daft.ie Rental Report showed that the average monthly rent in the county, as 2020 drew to a close, stood at €1,106 compared to €1,016 for the same period 12 -months earlier – representing a year-on-year increase of 8.9%.

The only other two counties in the country to see higher annual rental inflation rates were Kerry (9.9%) and Limerick (9.2%).

The report showed that rents in Cork County rose by 4.7% over the last quarter of 2020, with the final figure representing an 89.9% increase on their lowest point, or ‘trough’ in 2011.
