CUCKOO funds are spreading their wings across the country and driving up the cost of some houses by up to €80,000, the Dail heard yesterday.
It comes as the national housing charity Threshold today expresses “serious concerns” about the ability of single people to be able to afford rent, as a new report shows rents are continuing to sky rocket.

The Government has come under immense pressure over the housing crisis in the past week after it emerged that an investment fund snapped up 135 houses in one estate in Co Kildare — outpricing first-time buyers who were trying to get on the property ladder.
