On one single street in Cork city there are 142 rented houses left unregistered with the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB), a Cork TD has said.
Speaking in the Dáil today Cork North-Central TD Colm Burke said that around 60% of rented houses on College road in Cork city are not registered with the RTB.
“This is an offence which raises serious concerns as landlords are legally required to register their properties with the RTB,” the TD told CorkBeo.
“Landlords who do not have their properties registered are not accountable, and there is no way for other residents in the area to reach them.
“There have been serious problems in this area with partying and anti-social behaviour, but landlords cannot be held accountable as they are not registered,” he added.
