The Government’s Help to Buy scheme is being continued at its current rates for 2022, the Minister for Finance has said.
However, Paschal Donohoe announced that a full review of the scheme would be carried out in the course of next year.
The Help to Buy scheme is an incentive where first time buyers can claim a maximum of 10% of the value of the property or €30,000 – which ever is lower.
The Minister also said he was extending the relief for pre-letting expenses for landlords for a further three years.
“This will continue to encourage landlords in the residential rental sector to return empty properties to the market as quickly as possible,” he said.
